PILATES
Pilates improves the body, mind and spirit. It is for everybody because it not only exercises the muscles; it also corrects the muscle firing patterns in concert with the nervous system and corrects any negative postural adaptations.
The focus required by Pilates movements creates a more disciplined mind. Accessing forgotten or underutilized muscles is part of every Pilates exercise. When you’re more comfortable with these new muscles, your body awareness increases exponentially. It is inevitable.
A deeper connection with your physical body and mindful movement brings happiness to your spirit or soul. Anytime you do something for the self that takes you closer to wholeness, your spirit will celebrate. It could be those endorphins kicking in too, but Pilates gives you an inner grace and whole-body connection that are lacking in other exercises.
KIMBERLY PARKER
Kimberly Parker has been a certified instructor of the Pilates method since 1998, by PhysicalMind Institute and Melt Method since 2017. She loves to focus on making movement awareness part of every client’s daily life. Melt Method does this in a subtle way and Pilates in an obvious way.
She is also certified as an Assisted Stretch and Flexibility Coach, a TRX group fitness instructor and a Pilates Conditioning for Golf Specialist through the PhysicalMind Institute.
Her ongoing education in both methods has made it possible for her to handle a multitude of conditions, including scoliosis, disc injuries, tendinitis, arthritis, loss of balance, and sport-specific injuries. She can teach an hour of Pilates, or Melt Method or a combination of both. Both have helped her recover from the hard demands of roller derby, flying trapeze, and aerial silk training.
All Pilates appointments require 24 hour cancellation to avoid charge.
